Oh, Happy Day Ten!
July 18th, 2016
Well...in the interest of honesty...I was a little bit overwhelmed on Friday...I was nervous about today...then today came and I realised that I love the Book Creator App! It seemed once the anxiety and uncertainty wore off everything started to click.
My amazing partner Joanne had so many great ideas and there was three hours of conversation, collaboration and creation. Having an amazing team mate really made the app come to life. At the end of our creative explosion, with twenty ideas fleshed out, we looked at each other and started detailing all the other ideas that we still had!
I have thinking a lot about accessibility after watching the videos (and the last two weeks of discussions!) and I would love to walk through this options with my students. I had no idea that there were as many supports automatically in place as there are and I am sure my kiddos are not making full use of them.
Also...in the interest of continued honesty...I wish my board had an emphasis on meaningful assistive technology supports like the SSRSB does...
Tracy, I am loving your blog and all of your witty comments too. :) I am a big fan of Book Creator as well and like you I had a bit of a hard time at first. My number one issue was not having my own iPad made it a bit difficult to spend the amount of time I needed and wanted to explore. However, the more I used the app the more I learned and the faster I got. I feel your pain in not having the same technology supports like SSRSB but I feel like after taking this course I am better equipped to know what to ask for and to go looking. After seeing all the iPad accessibility options this will probably be #1 on my wish list.
